OK, so I want to see Mike really, really bad. Here's the deal: there is no way I want to travel (i.e. make a 12 hour drive) alone. If it turns out that my lovely Amanda-panda and Ms. Molly can't come to Florida with me, I might be stuff-out-of-luck. To all my good friends out there, is there anyone close to me who thinks they could stand a 24-hour round trip of driving alone in a car with me? It's totally worth a weekend in Florida. Oh yeah, and here's the catch... it would be next weekend, i.e. Friday June 13th. Short notice, I know.

Don't worry: if you say you want to come, and Amanda gets to come, then you still get to come! I mean I don't want like 6 people going... but two more tagging along would be great. Road trip! Woo! And shoot, I'm running out of girlfriends so this invite is open to a limited number of guys too. Ya'll know who you are... either my daddy trusts you or Mike trusts you. Or you're gay.

Yes! I just got the greenlight from my dad to go to Florida. I'm going to see Mike! This is going to be such an awesome trip, and hopefully the lovely Molly and Amanda will accompany me.

So, Juli called today. She got a packet in the mail from the Navy with details about graduation, hotels, parking pass, etc. Assuming that all goes well, Mike will be graduating on May 2nd.

If you're wondering how my new page looks exactly like the old one, minus all my friends and a few new changes to interests, etc., then give Paul some props. He figured out how to salvage all my old CSS code and gave me a lot of help to set my page up to be just the way I had before. Thanks so much! I couldn't have done it without you.

Guess what? *pauses while you say "What?"*

I got mail from Mike today! Apparently he's only recently been allowed to send mail, and he only gets to every Sunday, so I got a bunch of letters all at once, which was awesome! I'll sum up some of it here for all of you who kinda want to know how he's doing.

I guess I'll start with the bad, then move to the good. Mike's been sick a lot, unfortunately. He's the only one who lost his voice and he, along with everyone else, has had some fevers/sore throats, etc . Apparently there's a lot of douche bags in his division "who won't shut their damn mouths or hurry up" (his words) and because of them they all get punished with ITE -- Intensive Training Exercise. He's not allowed to wear his watch so he says he never knows what time it is either. He got all his hair cut off, too... but maybe I'm the only one who thinks that's a bad thing . Also he had to do his PFA (physical fitness assessment) while he was sick, and didn't do too well because of it. Also apparently he had to march through a blizzard?

Now for the good! Mike passed his 3rd class swimmer's test just fine and thinks the 2nd class one will be cake. The chaplain, a lieutenant commander, wants him to play the violin for his church band. His RDC (recruit division commander, the Navy version of drill sergeant), is going to let him as long as it doesn't interfere with training. He's also been designated EPO (education petty officer). In his words that means "it's my job to not only know all the answers but to make sure everyone else knows all of the answers". Haha well if anyone can get them motivated I guess that would be Mike... anyway, he says the food is good and they dress in tons of layers so they stay warm in the cold up north there. He talks about a couple people, some petty officers, that he likes so it seems like he's playing nice with the other children and making friends .

Anyway he says he likes hearing from us, so everyone PLEASE write Mike some letters! Here's the address again; I'll put it down the way that he writes it on his letters:
